An X-ray of your left knee takes pictures from two different angles (front-to-back and side-to-side) to help your doctor see the bones and joints in that area. Your doctor might order this test if you have knee pain, swelling, or a suspected injury to check for fractures, arthritis, or other bone problems. During the procedure, you'll stand or sit still while the X-ray machine takes a few quick pictures, and you may be asked to position your leg in different ways to get clear images from each angle.
