This billing code is used when a Rural Health Clinic provides a telehealth visit (a medical appointment conducted by phone or video) where the doctor is at a different location than the patient. You might receive care this way if you live in a rural area and need to see a specialist or your regular doctor but cannot easily travel to an in-person appointment. During the visit, you'll speak with or see your healthcare provider remotely, and they'll discuss your health concerns just as they would during an office visit.
