A knee X-ray AP and lateral view is an imaging test where pictures are taken of your knee from two different angles—one from the front and one from the side—to help your doctor see the bones and joints clearly. Your doctor might order this test if you have knee pain, swelling, injury, or other concerns about your knee structure. During the procedure, you'll stand or sit still while X-ray images are taken, which takes just a few minutes and involves no needles or injections.
